The National Library of Russia acquired the Adariukov collection in 1919. It contains over 2000 Russian lithographed portraits dating the nineteenth century. The portraits were collected by the art expert and collector of prints, Vladimir Adariukov (1863-1932). Adariukov's passion for collecting of the portraits was stimulated by his scientific researches which resulted in the Dictionary of Russian Lithographic Portraits. This publication of particular scientific and artistic interest describes both separate sheets and those bound into series, albums and books.
