The Alexeyev collection contains 32000 postcard portraits dating the first third of the nineteenth century. The portraits represent Russian and foreign cultural figures, mainly, operatic singers, ballet dancers and drama actors. The postcards depict performers in their roles and everyday life, the collection also includes individual scenes from different performances.
