With the Document Delivery Service you can request electronic copies (digital scans) of materials in the Library's collections, excluding the manuscript collection. Please contact the Manuscript Department directly for permission to have a copy made.

Please note! There may, however, be occasions when material cannot be copied. Decisions on each item will be made individually. All our collections reserve the right to accept or decline your order for any reason. They may also charge an additional fee to cover the wear and tear of items.

Certain materials are restricted on account of their fragility or value. We will not normally reproduce very fragile or rare items. For example, Russian books printed before 1826 and pre-1886 Russian periodicals may not be scanned.

Placing an Order

You can find out bibliographical details for items you wish to order in our Online Catalogues.
You can order copies via online form.
Your order will numbered and confirmed later by email.
The Document Delivery Service will contact you with cost estimate within 10 days of receipt. Complete information about your order can be found in YOUR PERSONAL PAGE (Your Account).
Copies may be delivered by email if your order is less than 10 pages.
If the order exceeds a maximum of 10 pages, it will be placed on our FTP-server.

Payment Method

All orders must be paid for in advance. Please pay with a credit card. We accept VISA, EuroCard/MasterCard, and Diners Club. To pay for an order, please, authorize your credit card on the site of electronic payment system Assist. Please note that we cannot take credit cards if the amount of your purchase is less than 150 rubles.
Unfortunately, the Accounting Department of the National Library of Russia do not accept payments with cheques.
If you wish to pay by bank transfer, please contact us at the e-mail: edd@nlr.ru  We will send you an invoice with our bank account details by e-mail or by fax.
