On December 3, 2021, a training seminar was held for the employees of the Legal information center on the innovations of the Official Internet Portal of Legal Information.

On November 13, 2021, an online training on refugee rights was held at the Legislative Information Center. The training was conducted by Gutnikov A. B., Director of the Clinical Legal Education Center, Associate Professor, lecturer at the Institute of Law named after Prince P.G. Oldenburgsky.

On May 23, 2021, the Moot Court Competition took place at the Legislative Information Center of the National Library of Russia (NLR). It is an annual event organized by the St. Petersburg Institute of Law named after Prince P.G. Oldenburgsky in collaboration with the Legislative Information Center of the NLR. This is the first MCC which was held during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. Eight teams from different regions of Russian Federation took part in the Competition. On December 29, 2020, the results of the All-Russian Competition "Innovative Technologies in Legal Education on the Rights and Freedoms of Citizens, Forms and Methods of their Protection" were summed up. This competition is held annually under the auspices of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.

In 2020, the educational competition started in March and was held for the third time: a total of 415 works were received (in 2019 – 421, in 2018 – 366).

According to the results of the competition, the Legal Information Center of the National Library of Russia won in the following categories:

"The best electronic library of legal materials" – 1st place

"Best website /IT content for legal education" – 3rd place.

On December 12, 2020, The Constitution Day is celebrated in the Russian Federation. The Constitution of the Russian Federation is the highest regulatory legal act of the Russian Federation.  The text of the Constitution adopted by popular vote on 12 December 1993, with amendments approved by all-Russian vote on 1 July 2020.

On May 21, 2020 two new sections are added to the online guides on our site:  «Information resources on coronavirus»  and «Economy and coronavirus», which covers the impact of coronavirus on business.

On January 28, 2020, the employees of the Legislative Information Center visited the recently reconstructed library of the Petrogradsky district of St. Petersburg. This library is named after V.I.Lenin.  

On January 15, 2020, the exhibition "Travel to South Korea" was opened in the New building of the Russian National Library.  The exhibition presents works by Alim Velitov  (artist of the Russian state library for youth (RGBM). 

On December 3, 2019, all lawyers of Russia celebrate their official professional holiday. Lawyer's Day was established in 2008. 

On September 2019, the Legislative Information Center participated in the All-Russian contest “Innovative technologies in legal education on the rights and freedoms of citizens, forms and methods of their protection”. The project aims to promote legal knowledge in the information society.

On April 2, 2019, the interdisciplinary scientific conference with international participation “Law, Book and Literature” was held at the Faculty of Law, St. Petersburg State University of Economics. The St. Petersburg State University of Economics has been collaborating with the Legislative Information Center of the NLR for a long time in organizing work of the legal clinic – a place where one can obtain legal advice and assistance, provided by students.

On March 25 – 29, 2019 specialists of the Legal information center took part in the 9th All-Russian scientific and practical conference "Library collections in the digital era: traditional and electronic resources, acquisition and use"  at the National Library of Russia, St. Petersburg.
